At Oh You’re Lovely we are huge fans of sola wood flowers. And lemons. Boy have I loved working with freshly cut lemons this summer! Especially when you’re crafting on a hot summer day, they will bring a refreshing brightness into any of your projects!
Today I’m going to show you how to make a super simple summer centerpiece that is a PERFECT complement for your summer decor.
What You’ll Need
- Greenery from Oh, You’re Lovely!
- A selection of dyed flowers (I suggest citrus and berry colors for a natural contrast to your lemons)
- A tall, wide vase
- A tall, skinny vase
- 5-7 lemons
How To Make It
Here’s how to make the simplest, freshest centerpiece:
Step 1: Slice 5-7 Lemons So You Have A Big Bowl of Lemon Rings
I started with 5 and quickly found I needed more. Depending on the size of your vases, your numbers may vary!
Step 2: Put the Skinny Vase INSIDE of the Wide Vase
This should create a small ring of space that will allow you to slide your lemons in!
Step 3: One By One, Slide Your Lemon Rings IN BETWEEN The Vases
Since there’s a little space in between the vases, these lemon rings should fit comfortably – not too snug, not too loose – right in between.
Step 4: Add Greenery To The Skinny Vase
Once you’ve added your lemons, grab your favorite Oh, You’re Lovely! greenery and filler to the skinny vase! Which filler should you use? Glad you asked! We suggest 2+ of the following:
Step 5: Add Dyed Flowers To Your Greenery
Now that you have filler in place, it’s time for sola flowers from Oh, You’re Lovely! I used a selection of the following when I made this for my family:
Remember: when selecting colors, think about what goes well with lemons! Oranges, strawberries, raspberries, ruby red grapefruits...if it’s the color of a fruit with vitamin C, it goes in here!
Step 6: Enjoy!
